It has been an amazing experience for me to be here at Colorado School of Mines. I have gained a tremendous amount of knowledge in both theory and practice.
CSM is an excellent school located in the perfect place for geological study, surrounded by sedimentary, igneous, and metamorphic outcrops.
Great examples of seismic data, well logs, and cores from around the world are available to students. CSM also has a strong academic staff always willing to support
students in academic areas as well as aspects of life.
Without support from CoRE, CSM, and Chevron, I would never have had the chance to acquire all the valuable experience I have gained in my 2 years here at Colorado School of Mines. Thank you very much for all the support from everyone.

Leaving Lagos, Nigeria for Colorado School of Mines in 2004 was a Herculean task for me. Coming from a temperature hardly less than 29 C (84 F), I dreaded
the preponderant snow of winter in Colorado.
Studying at CSM and being part of the CoRE has been a tremendous opportunity for me. The industry focused teachings and research at CSM makes the school one of the best industry personnel trainers in the world. Access to Chevron experts in deep-water study, CoRE facility, and Faculty were additional advantages. The involvement of CVX personnel in CoRE, and in the educational careers of students, gives a hope that acquired skills might be utilized after the program.
I eventually found the weather to be fantastic. The beauty of the winter’s white snow when combined with sunshine is an awesome sight. The relatively rural life of mountainous Golden combined with the urban life of Denver gives all you can get in life style. Overall, studying at CSM has been an awesome experience for me.
